Confirmed breeding and range-limit sighting of Enigmatic (Type 7) Red Crossbills (Loxia curvirostra) in British Columbia

Abstract: We report the sighting of an adult male Type 7 Red Crossbill (Loxia curvirostra [type 7]) feeding two juveniles in Stone Mountain Provincial Park, British Columbia. This is the first confirmed breeding record of this type in the province, the first photographic record of this type anywhere, and a significant northerly record.
